Adding Subcontractors
The Paint Estimator allows you to include subcontractors directly in your estimate. Subcontractors are considered outside help used to complete specific parts of a job.
Common examples include scaffold setup, carpentry repairs, or other specialty trades needed before painting can begin.
Subcontractor costs are treated as a separate line item in the estimate. Be sure you clearly understand what work the subcontractor is responsible for before adding them.
Adding a subcontractor
To add a subcontractor to your estimate, click the Subcontractor icon on the Estimate page.
Entering subcontractor details
Enter the name of the company or subcontractor in the Enter the subcontractor below field, then enter the cost they will charge you for the work.
You can optionally apply your company profit percentage to the subcontractor cost by enabling the Add Profit toggle.
Adding profit to subcontractor costs can significantly increase the final estimate. Always confirm whether markup is appropriate for the specific subcontracted work.
There is no need to enter a Room or Area name for subcontractors. Simply click Add to include the subcontractor in your estimate.
Using saved subcontractors
If you have used a subcontractor before, you can select them from the dropdown list by clicking the arrow in the subcontractor name field.
Selecting a saved subcontractor automatically fills in their previously used information, saving time and ensuring consistency between estimates.
