Convert hours to days

This mode calculates how many days are required based on total hours, number of employees, and daily work hours.

Example: You want to assign 32 total hours to a task.

The formula used is:

(Total Hours ÷ Employees) ÷ Hours Per Day

Example:

(32 ÷ 2) ÷ 8 = 2 days

The resulting value is what you enter in the Days column of the Free Entry grid.

Convert days (decimal) to hours

Switching to Decimal to Hours mode performs the reverse calculation.

Example:

(2 days × 8 hours) × 2 employees = 32 hours

Use this when you already know the number of days and want to understand the total labor hours involved.

Rounding up total job days

New in version 2.0.0.7, the Hourly Calculator can round the total job days to a clean, even value.

Round up job days option

This feature creates an Adjustment line item using:

  • The rounded number of days
  • The maximum employees assigned to the job
  • No materials

Important:
You can only round up — not below the original total days. Increments are limited to 0.5 days.

This tool is especially useful when an estimate results in fractional days such as 15.74 and you prefer to present a clean 16-day estimate.
