Restoring From a Prior Backup

If for some reason you need to restore your data from a prior backup, or you are moving your files to a new computer where you just installed the program, please read on.

Restoring Program Files Only

If you only need to restore certain program files, follow the steps below.

Click the File menu at the top of the main form, scroll down to Backup & Restore, and select Restore as shown below.

You should see a screen similar to the one below.

If there is nothing in the From: box, click the folder icon to browse to a previous backup location. You cannot restore program files unless a valid backup path is selected.

Click the Restore Program Files Only button.

Select which files you would like to restore, then click Restore Now when finished. The program will need to be restarted for the changes to take effect.

Restoring All Data Files

If you are moving all your data files to a new computer, or restoring your entire dataset from a prior backup, follow the steps below.

If you are moving to a new computer, first back up your data to a USB drive or external storage device so it can be accessed on the new system.

Open the Restore form by clicking the File menu, then selecting Backup & Restore → Restore.

In the From: box, you should see the location of the most recent backup. If not, click the folder icon and browse to the backup you want to restore. When moving to a new computer, this will typically be a USB drive.

Once the correct backup is selected, click the Restore Now button. You may be prompted to overwrite existing files — in most cases, this is expected.

When the restore process is complete, restart the program so the restored data can be loaded properly.
