Weather Forecast
As painters, we all know that weather plays a major role in scheduling and completing jobs. The Weather Forecast feature allows you to quickly open the built-in Windows Weather app directly from The Paint Estimator.
Opening the Weather Forecast
To open the Weather Forecast, click the cloud icon located in the top-right corner of the program.
Within a second or two, the Windows Weather app should launch. This app provides live forecasts, weather maps, and historical data.
This integration relies on the Windows Weather app. Behavior may vary depending on your Windows version and system configuration.
Troubleshooting
If clicking the weather icon does nothing, try the following steps.
Step 1: Verify the Weather app is installed
In the Windows taskbar search box, type Weather. You should see the Weather app listed.
If the app appears, it is installed correctly.
Step 2: Refresh the Weather command
Open Program Settings, then click User Settings. Near the bottom of the form, you should see the Weather configuration box.
Click the Refresh icon to update the command. Then click the Weather icon again to test.
Step 3: Manually configure using PowerShell
If the Weather app still does not open, you can manually configure it using Windows PowerShell.
- In the Windows taskbar search box, type Windows PowerShell and open it.
- At the command prompt, type get-StartApps and press Enter.
- Locate the entry for Weather in the list.
- Copy the entire Weather command line.
Return to Program Settings → User Settings. Press Ctrl + Alt + B to make the Weather field editable, then paste the copied command into the box.
Click the Weather icon again to test. If it still does not open, please contact support.
