Description Templates
Description Templates are similar to Job Scopes, but instead of inserting a small section of text, they insert an entire proposal description.
If most of your proposals follow the same structure with only minor changes, Description Templates can save a significant amount of time by eliminating repetitive typing or copying from older proposals.
Loading a Description Template
To load a Description Template, click the Templates tab on the Proposal page.
The program includes several sample templates to demonstrate how templates work. Select a template from the Interior or Exterior dropdown to load it.
Loading a template does not automatically save it. The template is only inserted into your proposal when you click Select Template and Return.
Once loaded, you may edit the template text before inserting it, or immediately insert it into your proposal.
Creating a new Description Template
To create a new template, start a blank proposal and type your full proposal description in the description area.
When finished, right-click inside the description area and select Create Template.
Enter a name for the template, select whether it applies to interior or exterior work, then click OK.
A good way to learn how templates work is to experiment on a blank proposal until you are comfortable using them.
Removing Description Templates
To remove a template from the dropdown list, open your file explorer and navigate to:
..\TpeWorkFiles\Assets\Templates\
Inside this directory you will find two folders:
- Int — Interior templates
- Ext — Exterior templates
Delete any template files you no longer want. The next time you start the program, the deleted templates will no longer appear.
